GCAS has the largest selection of adoptable animals under one roof in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. Each day there are over 120 dogs and 50 cats waiting to be adopted in the public adoption area. New pets become available daily as others are adopted. Adoption fees are $75 for cats / kittens and include spay/neuter by shelter vets, basic vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test for dogs and a microchip. Some pets have been sponsored which reduces the adoption fee. Several cats from the shelter are also on display at PetsmartLawndale and are ready to be adopted. Adoption fairs for dogs are held every Saturday from 11:30 to 4:00 at Petsmart--Bridford and on Sunday at Petsmart--Lawndale from 1:00 to 4:00.
